The following steps can be taken to create a new test:
 | Within FrontPage 2000, click
File, New, Web. You will be presented with a list of wizards.
Select the "Test Wizard" and either select to add it to the
current Web, or create a new
Web, and then click OK.
If you add to the current Web, you will be able to create tests on the
currently open Web. If you choose to create a new Web, the new Web will
be created and you will be able to begin creating tests on that Web.
If you have a Web already open that you want to add a test to, simply click Quizzing Engine on the menu bar, then New, then Test.
|
 | The Test Wizard will open and you will be
presented with various options. Select "Create a new test"
and then click Next. |
 | You will then be presented with some basic questions
about the test, such as a name, whether or not students can review their
questions after they finish the test, whether or not students can retake a
test more than once, the number of questions to display on a test, and
whether or not the questions should be randomized. After entering the
information, click Next. |
 | Lastly, you will asked to enter a name for the folder
that gets created in your Web for this test. Enter a name and click
Finish. The wizard will create a folder for your test within the Web
and it will insert your test data into the Microsoft Access database.
If you choose to not rerun the wizard when finished, the wizard will prompt
you if it should automatically launch the Question Wizard. |
Always use the Test Wizard to modify your
tests. The wizard will let you change any of the test properties including
the folder name. Since the folder name for your
test is stored in a database, changing the folder name outside of the wizard
will cause problems with your test.
The following steps can be taken to modify an existing
test:
 | Within FrontPage 2000, click
Quizzing Engine on the menu bar, then Edit, then Test. |
 | The Test Wizard will open and you will be presented with a list of tests on the
Web. Select a test and then click Next. |
 | You will then be presented with the properties for the
test. Make any desired changes and then
click Next. |
 | Lastly, you may change the folder name for this
test. If you change the folder name, the wizard will change the folder
name for you in your Web. The wizard will then update the database
with any new information. |
Always use the Test Wizard to delete your
tests. Since data about your test is stored in a
database, if you delete the folder in FrontPage 2000, data will still exist in
the database about your test.
The following steps can be taken to delete a test:
 | Within FrontPage 2000, click
Quizzing Engine on the menu bar, then Delete, then Test. |
 | The Test Wizard will open and you will be presented with a list of tests on the
Web. Select a test and then click Finish. Your test will be
deleted from the database and your FrontPage 2000 Web. Please note
that this will delete all questions and answers associated with this test
and all of your students results for the test. |
