Minerva Duke acquired her M.A. in Sports Sociology and Exercise Physiology from CSU Hayward. Minerva loves Benicio del Toro. If you bring her a nice picture of him, it won't help with your grade, but you'll certainly get a big smile. Not surprisingly, Minerva has dedicated her life to sports and fitness. That means that if the class is out running, it is a safe bet that she will be right there beside them, and often leading the way. Although most of the youngsters coming into this school have never heard of him, the athlete that Minerva likes the best is Wilt Chamberlain (although David Beckham is gaining). To this day, at a whopping height of "5 foot nothing," she still plays her first love -- Basketball. She may be short, but she can take you to school in more ways than one. "Minerva has a tremendous amount of integrity, and if you're willing, maybe you can become one of her special students. That means she'll bug you about school, encourage you when you need it, and, just as quickly, give you a swift kick if she thinks you need that instead." - Jeff Mathis |
